ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – Jan. 9, 2025 – Susan L. Heller, co-managing shareholder of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Orange County office, has been elected president of the Board of Directors of Human Options. She most recently served as the board’s vice president and chair of its governance committee.
Human Options is an Orange County-based nonprofit organization committed to ending the cycle of domestic and relationship violence. The organization offers safe haven shelters, housing assistance, legal advocacy support, and counselling services, among other specialized programs.
“It has been an honor to serve as a board member of Human Options for the past six years. I am consistently humbled by the work they do,” said Heller. “Human Options is dedicated to the greater good of Orange County, driven by the fundamental belief that every person deserves the right to live without fear of harm. I am grateful for the work they do, the compassion they bring, and the difference they make in so many lives.”
Heller, who also is co-chair of the firm’s global Trademark & Brand Management Group and senior advisor to the firm’s Women’s Initiative, is consistently recognized by numerous publications and organizations as having one of the most innovative international trademark practices in the country, and for being a game-changer. When the stakes are high and critical brands are at risk, Fortune 500 companies, world champion athletes, high-net-worth individuals, A-list celebrities, and highly visible pre-IPO companies turn to Heller for her strategic thought leadership and counsel, honed by three decades of experience. In addition to Human Options, her dedication to the Orange County community includes serving on the Board of Visitors of the University of California Irvine School of Law and on the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of California Irvine Paul Merage School of Business.
