Greenberg Traurig’s Construction and Hospitality Practices Named Law360 “Practice Groups of the Year”

NEW YORK – Dec. 7, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Construction and Hospitality practices have been named among Law360’s 2020 Practice Groups of the Year. The awards honor law firm practices that played a key role in the major wins and deals that resonated throughout the legal industry in the past year.

Law360 annually highlights up to five winners across multiple practice areas that landed the biggest victories of the year, according to the publication. Winners are recognized for the size, complexity, and significance of the deals or litigation they worked on.

With an eye toward landmark matters and general excellence, Law360 selected 185 winning groups across 40 practice areas. In the award program's 11th year, the Practice Groups of the Year hailed from 81 law firms whose work rose to the top among a total of 775 submissions.

Greenberg Traurig’s Construction Practice was recognized by Law360 for its role in serving as construction counsel for RBH Group in building an $85 million living-learning community at Rutgers University-Newark; representing a State Farm Insurance Company entity in an arbitration and litigation; successfully prosecuting and favorably settling claims brought in federal court on behalf of a Codina Partners-affiliated developer client against a contractor and the contractor’s surety; assisting a large developer affiliate of Encore Housing Opportunity Fund with terminating a $97 million construction contract in Los Angeles, California; and negotiating a $190 million construction contract on behalf of the development manager OKO Group and Investors OKO Group and Cain International.

The group’s award submission highlighted its ability to handle a wide variety of substantial projects on behalf of owners, developers, and contractors in major projects – emphasizing the breadth of the firm's expertise in both the transactional and disputes sides of construction projects.
