  • Prevailed on appeal in February 2023, obtaining the reversal of an award of paid time off (PTO) to a former employee of a Major Hospital System who was terminated for disciplinary reasons. The lower court deemed PTO to be “wages,” but the New Jersey Appellate Division reversed, concluding that PTO was not wages under New Jersey law and that the client – and employers generally – have the right to define the terms of paid leave programs and enforce well-written policies.
  • Prevailed on appeal in January 2022 on behalf of a Major Hospital System, obtaining reversal of a New Jersey Department of Labor wage determination.
  • Prevailed on several wage and hour claims before the New Jersey Department of Labor filed against employers for alleged wage and hour violations.
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of a Major Hospital System in New Jersey state court in case alleging, among other claims, disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and religious discrimination, which was later upheld on appeal.
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of a Major Hospital System in New Jersey federal court in case alleging disability discrimination, failure to accommodate, and retaliation.
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of a Major Hospital System in New Jersey federal court in case alleging age discrimination.
  • Achieved summary disposition in arbitration on behalf of financial institution alleging, among other claims, breach of contract and discrimination.
  • Assisted with a New Jersey Superior Court jury trial on behalf of Major Hospital System resulting in a unanimous verdict for the defense on all claims, which included allegations of whistleblower retaliation and discrimination.
