NEW YORK – Nov. 5, 2015 – International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is sponsoring the National Association of Women Lawyers’ (NAWL) 11th Annual General Counsel Institute, taking place at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, Nov. 5-6. Lori G. Cohen, chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice, and Greenberg Traurig’s Chief Pricing Officer Matthew Beekhuizen will be speaking on a panel Thursday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m.
Cohen and Beekhuizen will be participating in a panel, “Law Department Management: How to Efficiently Manage Costs and Significant Matters by Partnering with Outside Counsel.” Jennifer Benenson, Vice President and North American General Counsel of Ispen Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and Jennifer G. Swanton, Discovery Counsel and Discovery Team Lead of Medtronic, PLC, are also on the panel. Anne C. Weisberg, Senior Vice President for Strategy for the Families and Work Institute, will moderate the discussion. The panel will discuss how General Counsels can leverage relationships with outside counsel to increase efficiency, identify internal and external cost-savings, and accomplish high-quality work at a value.
NAWL’s 11th Annual General Counsel Institute is open to senior in-house counsel of public, private, large and small companies, nonprofits, government, and educational entities. Cohen has a national litigation practice focusing on product liability litigation and specifically, medical device and pharmaceutical litigation. She is widely recognized for her trial skills, having received 56 defense verdicts at trial. She was profiled in Law360’s 2015 “Trial Aces,” 2012 "Top Female Trial Attorneys," The Financial Times, and The National Law Journal’s “Winning - Successful Strategies From Some of the Nation’s Top Litigators,” a special report recognizing 10 attorneys from across the United States.
