FORT LAUDERDALE – Aug. 8, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. continues the strategic expansion of its Real Estate Practice with the addition of David K. Blattner as of counsel in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. He joins Greenberg Traurig from Becker.
With more than 25 years of experience, Blattner focuses his practice on complex real estate transactions, advising clients in the acquisition, financing, and development of large projects, including shopping centers, warehouses and industrial buildings, hotels, and multi-family residential communities.
“David brings a high level of experience and complementary skills to the firm as we continue to expand in South Florida and beyond,” Fort Lauderdale Co-Managing Shareholder Matthew W. Miller said. “He further strengthens our real estate sector capabilities and will work synergistically with our Fort Lauderdale corporate team, enabling us to better serve clients in need of specialized transactional advice. As always, we remain committed to adding skilled attorneys who see the benefits of the firm’s global platform and collaborative culture in helping clients to achieve their business goals.”
A key part of Blattner’s practice is assisting with the negotiation and closing of significant credit facilities for the acquisition and construction of real estate projects. His clients include developers, financial institutions, property management companies, landlords, and tenants throughout Florida, the United States, Canada, South America, and Asia.
“I was drawn to Greenberg Traurig because of the firm’s strong history and reputation in the area of real estate law, along with its significant involvement in civic and philanthropic efforts,” Blattner said. “As a long-time member of the South Florida legal community, I look forward to reconnecting with former colleagues who now work at Greenberg Traurig and meeting new ones, and to growing my practice with the firm.”
An advocate for “green urbanism,” he serves as the 2022 Chairman of the City of Fort Lauderdale’s Sustainability Advisory Board, which aims to identify and make recommendations that establish the city as a leader in environmental sustainability.
Blattner earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and his B.A. from The George Washington University.
