MIAMI (August 8, 2014) – Sabrina R. Ferris, co-hiring shareholder of the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been appointed as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Honey Shine Mentoring Program. In this role, Ferris will lead fellow board members to help identify the needs and goals of the organization and champion the nonprofit throughout the community through awareness, education and fundraising initiatives.
Honey Shine, established in 2002 by Tracy Wilson Mourning, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering girls between eight and 18 years of age by providing educational experiences and life-skills lessons related to health, nutrition and drug education, as well as career mapping and education.
“I am thrilled to accept this leadership role as chair of the Honey Shine board of directors,” Ferris said. “As an organization we will continue to take an active role in the advancement of young girls because they represent the future of our community.”
Ferris is a trial lawyer who focuses her practice on products liability and complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. She litigates matters involving consumer products and medical devices, fiduciary relationships, contract disputes, shareholder disputes, securities transactions, employee non-competition agreements, fraud and insurance claims.
She is involved in a multitude of community initiatives including: Advisory Board Member, The Posse Foundation, Miami Chapter; Board Member, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, Florida Region Board of Directors; and Committee Member, Greenberg Traurig United Way.
