Greenberg Traurig’s Ernest Greer and Jake Evans Recognized in Georgia Trend’s Georgia 500

ATLANTA – Nov. 13, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Ernest Lamont Greer, and Jake Evans are recognized in Georgia Trend’s third-annual Georgia 500 issue.

Georgia Trend’s annual Georgia 500 list highlights the “most influential business leaders” in over a dozen categories statewide. Greer and Evans are among a select group of attorneys featured in the Law section. This is the third year that Greer has been on the Georgia 500 list. He also was listed in the publication’s "100 Most Influential Georgians” issue in 2022-2023. Evans was listed in Georgia Trend’s “Georgia Legal Elite” issue in 2018-2020.

In its feature of the 2024 honorees, Georgia Trend describes Greer as “an impactful business and civic leader and decorated attorney who is committed to a life of significance on behalf of clients, the legal profession and the larger Atlanta community.” Evans is described as having “earned a reputation for showing dedication to enhancing his profession, knowledge and community that has been apparent in numerous roles.”

In his role as Greenberg Traurig co-president, Greer has a key role in the strategic direction of the global law firm and in its day-to-day operations, including shaping the firm’s brand as a collaborative law firm providing high-quality legal work and service to clients and across communities. Greer is often recognized for his approach to business, mentorship, diversity, and philanthropic efforts. His leadership extends beyond the firm, having served as the first lawyer to chair the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 2014 and contributing to other key Atlanta organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Buckhead Coalition, the Rotary Club of Atlanta, and the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Guardsman, Inc.

Evans is a first-chair litigator that represents clients in complex, high-stakes cases across practice areas in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Evans is the youngest person ever elected as chairman of Georgia’s State Ethics Commission, a role which he served in for three years. Among other roles, Evans has served on Georgia’s Advisory Commission to the United States Commission on Civil Rights, the Professionalism Committee of the Georgia Bar, the Atlanta Ballet’s Advisory Council, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta’s Young Leaders Council. Evans is a current member of Leadership Atlanta’s 2025 class and the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s ATLeaders.
