CHICAGO – Oct. 8, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP expanded its Corporate and Finance capabilities with the addition of Marisa Murillo as a shareholder in its Chicago office. Murillo joins the firm from K&L Gates LLP.
With over 20 years of experience, Murillo brings wide-ranging experience in negotiating and documenting complex finance transactions for a diverse array of clients. Her practice covers a broad spectrum of finance, including secured and unsecured credit facilities, leveraged buyout financings, refinancings, and more. Her portfolio also includes subordination and intercreditor agreements, mezzanine loans, debt and equity restructurings, green loans, and joint ventures. She also assists equity and debt funds in raising fund-level financings.
With a strong track record representing both senior and mezzanine lenders and borrowers, particularly in the middle market, Murillo has led finance deals ranging from $5 million to several billion dollars across a multitude of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, retail, technology, consumer brands, health care, telecommunications, media and entertainment, energy, hospitality, and professional services.

Beyond her legal practice, Murillo is actively involved in professional and community activities; she serves on the boards of several art museums, contributing to fundraising efforts for exhibitions featuring diverse artists. Her commitment to empowering the Hispanic legal community is evident through her past role as regional president of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Fluent in Spanish, Murillo effectively serves a diverse client base.
Murillo earned her J.D. from The University of Southern California Gould School of Law and her B.A.E. from Yale University.
