NEW YORK – Feb. 23, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was awarded “Americas M&A Law Firm of the Year” and Shareholder Ari Newman was honored as a “Rising Star Dealmaker” by the Global M&A Network. The awards were presented at the 15th Annual Americas & Global Markets M&A Atlas Awards held Jan. 30 at the Metropolitan Club.
Two transactions closed by Greenberg Traurig were also named “Deals of the Year”:
- U.S.A. Private Equity Deal of the Year (Lower Middle Market): for advising Premier Plastic Surgery Partners, LLC on the company’s establishment as one of the first private-equity-backed platforms for the investment in and management of plastic surgery practices. Greenberg Traurig attorneys acted as lead counsel to restructure three existing plastic surgery practices into the company and facilitate the investment of new capital into the Company by Corbel Capital Partners. The deal was led by Atlanta Shareholders Jordan S. Lewis and Theodore I. Blum.
- Americas Distressed M&A Deal of the Year: for its role in Renibus Therapeutics, Inc.’s acquisition of the intellectual property and assets of Tricida, Inc. The Greenberg Traurig team, led by Minneapolis Shareholder Michael B. Fisco and Delaware Shareholder Dennis A. Meloro represented the convertible noteholders.
