Berlin, March 4, 2019 – Greenberg Traurig Germany appoints two new counsel:
- Sara Berendsen, Counsel in corporate law/M&A
- Claudia Stremel, Counsel in tax law
With these two elevations, Greenberg Traurig Germany's senior level has grown to 18 partners and four counsel. Since the opening of the German office in autumn 2015, it has appointed a total of six partners and six counsel – two of them have become partners in the meantime. With women making up almost 30 percent of the office’s partners and 50 percent of those at counsel level, the proportion of women is far above market average.
The elevations allow Greenberg Traurig Germany to further strengthen its offerings in the areas of on cross-border M&A transactions, tax structuring, and investment law. Currently a powerful team of 40 corporate/M&A lawyers provides broad advice to global companies, investment funds, and corporations.
"With these appointments, we are consistently continuing our growth strategy as one of the leading international transaction law firms in Germany. We are very proud that both of our counsel also come from our own ranks and that we can offer our talents sustainable opportunities for the future," said Christian Schede, managing partner of Greenberg Traurig in Germany.
Sara Berendsen strengthens Greenberg Traurig’s international M&A and corporate practice. In addition to advising on transactions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures, she has particular experience in the areas of distressed M&A and stock corporation law. Sara Berendsen advises national and international clients in the fields of retail and consumer goods, media and technology as well as real estate.
Claudia Stremel is a specialist in tax law and advises domestic and international clients, in particular in the real estate and media industries. In addition to structuring cross-border real estate transactions and corporate financing, her particular focus also lies in the area of investment tax law.
