FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nov. 4, 2024 – Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Insurance Regulatory & Transactions Practice Chair Fred E. Karlinsky has been selected as the 2024 recipient of the Florida State University (FSU) Alumni Association Service Award from FSU College of Law.
The FSU Law 2024 Alumni Awards recipients were recognized during a virtual presentation Oct. 29. They will also be presented with their awards during the FSU College of Law’s Homecoming Reception Nov. 22. Honorees are recognized for contributing in many significant ways to the law school, the legal community, and beyond, according to FSU College of Law’s website.
“The experiences and connections I made at FSU have played a significant role in shaping my legal career,” Karlinsky said. “I am grateful to receive this award and to be able to pay forward the mentorship that I received.”
A shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices, Karlinsky has over 30 years of experience representing insurance companies, reinsurers, and a wide array of related entities on regulatory, transactional, corporate, and governmental affairs matters. He is a recognized authority on insurance regulatory and compliance issues and regularly leads insurers’ corporate and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Greenberg Traurig’s Insurance Regulatory & Transactions Practice was also recently named “Legal Services Provider of the Year” by Insurance Insider as part of the publication’s 2024 U.S. Honors award program.
Karlinsky is an adjunct professor at FSU College of Law, where he chairs the board of visitors. Since 2014, he has served on and currently chairs the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission. He also serves as the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s president.
