BERLIN - 2 Sept. 2024 – A new project is being planned for the 10,000-square-meter Kaufhof Saarbrücken site. Only a few months after filing for insolvency, the seller company’s creditor meeting approved the sale. The buyer, who does not want to be named, intends to upgrade the Bahnhofstrasse in Saarbrücken’s city center with the new development.
On Jan. 19, Kaufhof Saarbrücken GmbH filed for insolvency proceedings to be opened at the Berlin Charlottenburg district court. In May, insolvency administrator Prof. Dr. Torsten Martini from the law firm GÖRG initiated a structured sales process for the site with a plot area of around 10,000 square meters, a building area of over 50,000 square meters, and a multistory parking lot with 600 parking spaces.
