FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – July 2, 2024 – Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Chair Fred E. Karlinsky has been elected to serve as the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s president.
During the society's annual board of trustees meeting at The Florida Bar’s annual convention in Orlando June 20, officers and executive committee members were elected to serve a one-year term from July 1 through June 30, 2025.
The Florida Supreme Court Historical Society is a nonprofit organization with more than 800 members throughout Florida and elsewhere. Its mission is to celebrate, honor, and preserve the history of the Florida Supreme Court and its justices.
“I look forward to the opportunity to further the society’s mission, educate the public about the courts’ role, and support education and outreach programs,” Karlinsky said.
A shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices, Karlinsky has over 30 years of experience representing insurance companies, reinsurers, and a wide array of related entities on regulatory, transactional, corporate, and governmental affairs matters.
Karlinsky previously served as the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s first vice president on the executive committee and has served on the board of trustees since 2021. Additionally, since 2014 he has served on and currently chairs the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission. He is also an adjunct professor at Florida State University College of Law, where he chairs the board of visitors.
