BOSTON – Jan. 26, 2024 – Andrew (A.J.) Tibbetts, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, spoke at Trynco’s AI Summit Series Jan. 11 during the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco. He served on the panel “How AI is shaping the healthcare and biopharma industries,” which focused on leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) in preventative care, patient outcomes, and drug discovery.
The session was moderated by Pharmillennial Founder and CEO Prateek Jain and discussed the health care and biopharma industry’s AI challenges and potential solutions. Tibbetts discussed intellectual property (IP) for AI in health care, including strategic protection using patents, copyright, and trade secret, and aligning IP strategy to business strategy.
Tibbetts, an Intellectual Property & Technology shareholder in the firm’s Boston office, leverages prior experience as a software engineer to provide practical intellectual property strategy. He counsels on matters related to software-implemented tech across a range of industries, from networking, fintech, and natural language processing through to life sciences, artificial intelligence, medical records, and medical devices. Tibbetts advises a wide array of clients, ranging from international and publicly traded companies and large research institutions to small and growing companies. He serves on the board of directors of MassMEDIC and HealthTech Build, helping to support digital health efforts in the New England area.
