9 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named to ABA Litigation Section Leadership Positions

NEW YORK – Oct. 14, 2022 – Nine attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Litigation Practice have been appointed to leadership positions within the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Litigation Section for the 2022-2023 term. The Litigation Section provides litigators of all practice areas the resources needed to be successful advocates for their clients, according to the ABA. In addition, one attorney has been appointed to a national leadership position by ABA President Deborah Enix-Ross. 

Greenberg Traurig attorney appointments to ABA Litigation Section leadership are:

Shareholder Ruth A. Bahe-Jachna has been reappointed co-chair of the Litigation Section’s Virtual Programming Board. In addition, Ruth has been appointed by ABA President Deborah Enix-Ross to a three-year term on the ABA’s Standing Committee on Gavel Awards. The ABA annually presents the Silver Gavel Awards to recognize work in media and the arts published or presented during the preceding year that have been exemplary in helping to foster the American public’s understanding of law and the legal system. Ruth has more than 30 years of experience working on and managing large-scale litigation matters, including numerous multi-district litigation proceedings. 

Shareholder Daniel P. Elms has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Litigation Section’s Litigation News. He has just served a 3-year term as co-chair of the ABA real estate, condemnation, and trust litigation committee He is a business litigator representing clients of all sizes across a variety of sectors.

Shareholder Howard K. Jeruchimowitz has been appointed to the Litigation Section’s Virtual Programming Board. He is a commercial litigator with an emphasis in the areas of real estate, construction, and financial services. 

Shareholder Tiffany D.W. Shimada has been appointed the Litigation Section’s Managing Director Designate. She focuses her practice on helping clients with trademark, copyright, advertising, social media, and complex brand protection and management issues. 

Shareholder Eva M. Spahn has been appointed co-chair of the Litigation Section’s International Litigation & Dispute Resolution Committee. She is a multilingual commercial litigator, trial lawyer, and problem solver representing U.S. and foreign clients in domestic and cross-border financial services, products liability, and other complex commercial disputes in state and federal jurisdictions and multiple arbitration forums. 

Shareholder Natasha L. Wilson has been appointed co-chair of the Litigation Section’s 2023 Annual Conference. She is chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta Labor & Employment Practice and co-chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice's Corporate Restructuring & Employment Due Diligence group.

Of Counsel Bethany Rabe has been re-appointed Division II co-director, as well as editor-at-large of the Litigation Section’s Litigation News. She focuses her practice on entertainment-related litigation, with particular interest in copyright, trademark, right of publicity, defamation, and Internet matters, as well as appellate litigation and brand management.

Associate Shirin Afsous has been appointed a contributing editor of the Litigation Section’s Litigation News. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including financial services litigation and commercial contract disputes across the country in state and federal courts. She also appears regularly in administrative proceedings, including assisting clients involved in governmental investigations.

Associate Paul F. Stibbe has been appointed editor-in-chief of the editorial board for the Litigation Section’s Real Estate, Condemnation, and Trust Litigation Committee and co-chair of diversity for the committee. He concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on real estate disputes.
