Kickoff for Smith Playground's Leaders & Legends Black History Month Exhibit

GT is a proud sponsor of the annual "Leaders and Legends" exhibit at Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse and will participate in the opening press conference, reception, and exhibit preview. Honorees are drawn from Philadelphia's pantheon of past and present African Americans, with this year's class including famed painter Henry Ossawa Tanner, renowned educator Dr. Constance E. Clayton, former City Solicitor Sozi Pedro Tulante, labor leader Ryan Boyer, musical superstar DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Mayor Cherelle Parker, among others. This family-friendly program is designed to make history relevant and accessible for the city's youngest residents; admission is free thanks to generous donors. Leaders and Legends runs through Feb. 29.
