Kathryn focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, developing and leasing of retail, office, industrial, hotel and mixed-use property on behalf of private equity funds, REITs, developers, health care providers and various other institutional clients. Her vast experience in drafting and negotiating commercial leases also includes built to suit leases, ground leases and flex space leases for national retailers, shopping center developers, restauranteurs and major office park owners. She routinely handles complex financings for the ground-up construction of commercial projects, involving both senior and mezzanine loans, and negotiates and prepares related development, management, and joint venture agreements.

Kathryn’s previous experience includes working for a capital investment and private equity firm managing international finance transactions, giving her a unique business perspective and helping her to accommodate the needs of institutional clients.

Capabilities

Experience

  • Represented Okan Group, a Turkish developer, in the $18.1 million acquisition of six lots of land in downtown Miami from the historic Central Baptist Church.°
  • Represented a private equity fund in a joint venture borrower with respect to a $75 million financing, including a senior and mezzanine loan, for a mixed-use development in Manhattan.°
  • Handled a $100 million acquisition and subordinate financing of the membership interest of an entity owning over 200 acres of land in New Jersey, including a major AT&T office park.°
  • Closed a $300 million senior and mezzanine financing on behalf of a Florida developer for the ground up construction of a condominium building in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida.
  • Assisted the special fiduciary in the wind-down of U.S. Pension Trust, Corp.°
