SAN FRANCISCO – Nov. 11, 2021 – Philip I. Person, a shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will speak at the Barristers Club’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s virtual panel, “A Conversation with First Generation Attorneys: Advice to My Younger Self,” Nov. 17 from 5 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. PST.
Attorneys who are in different phases in their careers, but who are all the first lawyers in their families, will provide advice to other first-generation attorneys. They will give personal accounts of how they overcame challenges in their careers. Topics will include how to be successful as a first-generation attorney, managing difficult work environments and professional relationships, and learning and practicing self-advocacy. The Barristers Club is part of the Bar Association of San Francisco, comprised of attorneys in their first ten years of practice.
Person, a shareholder in the firm’s Labor & Employment practice in the San Francisco office, focuses on representing employers in wage and hour, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, trade secret misappropriation, non-competition, non-solicitation, and whistleblower claims. Person is an experienced litigator, having defended employers against single-plaintiff and class action litigation in both federal and state courts. He also represents employers in labor and employment arbitrations.
