AUSTIN – Oct. 14, 2020 – Elizabeth “Heidi” G. Bloch, an Appellate Practice shareholder in the Austin office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been accepted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
According to their website, ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 7,600 lawyers—equally balanced between plaintiff and defense—and judges spread among 96 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
“I am honored and humbled to be joining the American Board of Trial Advocates. As an appellate and a trial lawyer, I’ve witnessed from both sides the importance of the right of a civil jury trial in informing our jurisprudence,” Bloch said.
Bloch is an appellate litigator who is well-known for her ability to zero in on core issues. She crafts persuasive arguments to provide clear legal paths to help her clients pursue their legal objectives. She is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law and Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Bloch’s practice is focused on appeals involving general commercial litigation, construction litigation, and energy and natural resources disputes, in addition to alternative dispute resolution.
“The Greenberg Traurig family is incredibly proud to see Heidi welcomed to such a prestigious group,” said Mary-Olga Lovett, ABOTA Life Fellow and Senior Vice President and Co-Regional Operating Shareholder of the firm’s Texas offices. “Heidi is truly an exceptional legal talent. Her passion and knowledge for trial law, commitment to clients, and leadership are an inspiration.”
