“We are here and we will help you”
KIND recently interviewed Richard Rosenbaum, CEO of Greenberg Traurig LLP, about the outstanding pro bono work on which Greenberg has partnered with KIND. KIND is honoring Greenberg Traurig with the Allegiance Award at this year’s Coming Together for Children Alone annual gala in New York City on April 22nd. We are thrilled to have Mr. Rosenbaum attend and accept the award on behalf of Greenberg Traurig.
1. DESCRIBE GREENBERG TRAURIG’S ROLE IN PROVIDING LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO UNACCOMPANIED CHILDREN AND YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH KIND.
In 2014, Greenberg Traurig began a partnership with KIND on a new pro bono initiative involving attorneys in seven cities where the firm and KIND both have offices: Boston, New York City, Newark, Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Houston, and Los Angeles. The children identified by KIND, many victims of abuse and human trafficking, are in great need of legal services. With 29 offices across the country, we felt that Greenberg Traurig is uniquely suited to handle multiple cases simultaneously. On April 8, 2014, KIND conducted training at GT’s offices for all attorneys interested in participating in this project, and more than 100 participated. We currently have 41 active KIND matters involving 21 shareholders, six of counsel, and approximately 35 associates. In addition to the partnership with KIND, the Greenberg Traurig Fellowship Foundation is funding a full-time fellowship at KIND through Equal Justice Works.
