The ACI’s 5th Annual Summit for Women Leaders in IP Law, taking place from June 3–4, 2025, in Washington, D.C., aims to bring together women in intellectual property to explore industry trends, share career advancement strategies, and foster connections through mentoring and networking. Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Julie Bookbinder will be speaking at this event on Wednesday, June 4 at the D.C. Bar Association Washington, D.C. Julie will be a speaking on "The Intersection of Data and IP: Insights for Women Leaders in Tech" session, joined by Min Y. Ryoo, Legal Counsel at iCapital, and Honeah Mangione, Senior Counsel of Brand Trust, Privacy, and Safety at Buzzfeed. The discussion will examine the growing dependence of intellectual property on data and the increasing importance of navigating the intersection of IP law, data storage, and privacy regulations. It will also explore strategies for safeguarding IP assets while ensuring compliance with data protection laws. Key topics include securing proprietary databases, protecting data during transactions, implementing controls over shared information, and optimizing large-scale data storage protections. Experts will also discuss U.S. and international data privacy laws, cybersecurity best practices, and measures to prevent unauthorized IP proliferation.
