Pallav Raghuvanshi, Shira Peleg, and Jennifer A. Vincent to Present Barristers Club of San Francisco CLE Webinar on Federal Tax Issues of Blockchain and Cryptocurrency

NEW YORK and SAN FRANCISCO – April 26, 2022 Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Tax Practice Shareholder Pallav Raghuvanshi and Associates Shira Peleg and Jennifer A. Vincent will present a webinar titled “Blockchain and Cryptocurrency: Federal Tax Issues and Reporting” April 27 at noon hosted by The Barristers Club of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

The continuing legal education (CLE) program, presented by the Tax Section of The Barristers Club, will discuss reporting guidelines that are both relevant to businesses and investors. Topics to be covered are tax issues and considerations for transaction structuring, introduction to blockchain and cryptocurrency, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidance on virtual currency transactions, official guidance and recent IRS developments, reporting guidelines, and compliance and reporting issues.

Raghuvanshi focuses his practice on U.S. and international tax matters in the context of corporate restructurings and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He is experienced handling spin-off transactions for large multinational companies, various inbound and outbound transactions involving issues related to foreign tax credits, tax treaties, controlled foreign corporations, and other international reorganization issues. He also handles U.S. federal tax aspects of initial coin offering/first token sales and other tax-related issues on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

Peleg represents clients before the IRS and state and local taxing authorities in examinations, appeals, court, and collections. She also counsels tax-exempt organizations on obtaining and maintaining their tax-exempt status, corporate governance issues, joint ventures, and unrelated trade or business income issues.

Vincent focuses her practice on federal and state tax controversies and litigation. Vincent represents both individuals and companies in proceedings before the IRS and before California taxing authorities, including the Franchise Tax Board and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. She also assists clients with compliance counseling for both federal and state-based tax issues.
