New York – Oct. 13, 2021 – Elizabeth “Beth” C. Garvey, one of the most experienced attorneys in New York State government, has joined global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP in its Albany office as a member of its Government Law & Policy Practice. Garvey will serve clients across the nation while working closely with legal teams in Greenberg Traurig’s Albany, New York and Washington, D.C. offices.
Garvey previously served in a range of high-level governmental positions, including as acting counsel to the New York State Governor, senior vice chancellor for Legal Affairs and general counsel at the State University of New York (SUNY) in Albany, and counsel to the State Senate majority.

Garvey earned a J.D. at Albany Law School of Union University and a B.A. at Mary Baldwin College. She is admitted to practice in the state of New York. She is subject to the Public Officers Law which places restrictions on appearances before New York State agencies for two years and appearances on matters on which she previously worked.
