FORT LAUDERDALE – Nov. 8, 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. represented Better Collective as it negotiated a definitive agreement to acquire Toronto-based Playmaker Capital Inc., a leading digital sports media group. The deal marks Better Collective’s second largest acquisition, with a $188 million (176 million EUR) total price consideration.
Better Collective, a leading digital sports media group based in Copenhagen, Denmark, is expected to become the market leader in South America once the transaction closes. The acquisition will also strengthen its leading position in North America. The transaction will be funded by 65% Better Collective shares and 35% cash, corresponding to a dilution of approximately 3.1%.
Playmaker Capital primarily acquires and integrates premier fan-centric media brands in the United States, Canada, and across South America. Once the deal is complete, the new combined company will trade on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
The Greenberg Traurig team representing Better Collective was led by Corporate Shareholder Travis M. Walker, along with Corporate Associates Shane Taylor and Marc D.
