NEW YORK – March 14, 2022 – Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, Edward C. Wallace, and India L. Sneed of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP have been named to City & State’s 2022 Law Power 100 list.
The Law Power 100 list honors legal professionals who are influential in their field and New York’s governmental landscape. According to the website, the list includes federal prosecutors, district attorneys, white-collar defense attorneys, law school deans, public interest lawyers, and bar association leaders who shape New York politics and government.
The Greenberg Traurig attorneys on the list are:
- Ciparick is a co-chair of the National Appeals & Legal Issues Group and a former New York State Court of Appeals senior associate judge who was recently also named to City & State’s Latino Power 100 list. She advises clients on appellate matters and litigation strategy and mentors the firm's junior lawyers. She is active in public service, serving on the Permanent Commission on Access to Justice, the New York Courts Historical Society, and the New York State Indigent Legal Services Board. Ciparick was appointed by the chief judge to co-chair the New York Justice Task Force that examines the causes of wrongful convictions. She was also appointed by Mayor Bill de Blasio to serve as chair of the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary. Ciparick also serves as chair of the New York State Board of Law Examiners.
- Sneed is an associate in the New York Government Law & Policy Practice and was recently also named to City & State’s Black Power 100 list. She focuses her practice on government relations and represents clients at the municipal, state, and federal level on election law matters including petition process, ballot access, challenges, and court proceedings. She previously served as a City Council member’s chief of staff where she helped craft legislation. Sneed also worked at the Kings County District Attorney’s office as a member of the Hon. Kenneth Thomson’s inaugural class and accepted a position in the Civil Rights Bureau of the office – trying six cases before juries and the bench as first and second chair.
- Wallace is co-chairman of Greenberg Traurig’s New York office, a shareholder in the firm’s Real Estate Practice, and was recently also named to City & State’s Real Estate Power 100 list. He is a trusted advisor to many clients and has represented major institutions and real estate companies, Columbia University, New York University, and Fordham University in their Manhattan expansions. In addition, he has advised Extell, Silverstein, Fetner Properties, and other leading developers and financial and media companies. Wallace currently advises Hornblower, New York city’s ferry provider, and serves as outside national counsel to JCDecaux, the world’s largest bus shelter company. Active in the New York civic community, he serves as vice-chair of the French American Foundation and the Citizens Budget Commission and he is a board member emeritus of New Yorkers for Parks, where he previously served as chair.
