Herb Finn will discuss Defensive Portfolio Management
CHICAGO (Oct. 8, 2014) – Herbert Finn, a shareholder in the Chicago office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be speaking at the upcoming Centerforce IP Defense Summit Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014. The conference, taking place in Chicago, is a part of Centerforce’s overarching “IP Strategy Summit.”
Herb will serve on a panel titled “Defensive Portfolio Management - Playing Offense and Defense.” The panel will discuss how to use a combination of offensive and defensive strategies, develop a robust IP portfolio, establish and protect your market position and create and implement these stategies.
According to the conference website, the Summit examines intellectual property defense “from soup to nuts,” including best and latest defense strategies, preparing for trial, strong patent prosecution programs, protecting IP in social media, trade secrets, considerations when settling, managing internal resources and expectations, and post-issuance proceedings.
Herb concentrates his practice on all aspects of patent, trademark and copyright law, both within the United States and internationally, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation before the District Courts of the United States, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). He has litigated and tried cases in technology areas that include biomedical implants, catheters and lumens, cell phones and other mobile devices, computer input devices, computer software and operating systems, digital camera technology, Internet/networking technology, eye glasses and LCD technology, among others.
