BERLIN – Dec. 20, 2024 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig provided advice to HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH (HOWOGE) on the acquisition of the KONNEKT / Georg-Knorr-Park project in Berlin-Marzahn. The approximately 11-hectare site was sold by Laborgh Investment GmbH and Kondor Wessels.

The KONNEKT / Georg-Knorr-Park project is one of the largest urban development projects in Berlin expected in the coming years. It will feature around 1,700 apartments with a rentable living space of approximately 107,000 square meters and about 24,500 square meters of commercial space, all to be constructed on the former industrial site at the Marzahn S-Bahn station. At least 50% of the apartments will be rented as subsidized housing. The project focuses on sustainability and is being developed according to the KfW-40 standard, based on an urban design by David Chipperfield Architects.

Greenberg Traurig advised HOWOGE on all real estate and tax law aspects of the transaction.
