Greenberg Traurig’s EB-5 Team to Present 4-Part Immigration Webinar Series

NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA– Nov. 10, 2022 – A team of EB-5 attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s immigration and financial regulatory practices will present a four-part webinar series on the EB-5 immigrant investor program in November and December.  

Immigration & Compliance Practice Co-Chair Kate Kalmykov and Shareholder Jennifer Hermansky, and Financial Regulatory & Compliance Practice Co-Chairs Richard M. Cutshall and William B. Mack will present Part 1, “I-956K Requirements,” Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. The Greenberg Traurig securities, corporate, and immigration lawyers will discuss agent registration under the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act, with a focus on the new requirements of Form I-956K and how regional centers, EB-5 funds, and EB-5 projects must review and update their compliance policies and written agreements with overseas finders and broker-dealers.

Kalmykov, Hermansky, and Immigration Shareholder Dillon R. Colucci will present Part 2, “Annual Compliance on Form I-956G After The EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act,” Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. The panel will discuss the new requirements for annual compliance under the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act following the replacement of Form I-924A with Form I-956G, including a discussion of the more fulsome documentary requirements required by the Act.

Kalmykov, Hermansky, and former U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Adjudicator Gregory Sheehan will present Part 3, “A Conversation With A Former EB-5 Adjudicator,” Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. The panel will discuss the processing by USCIS of I-526, I-829, I-956 Regional Center Applications, as well as requests for evidence and notices of intent to deny trends. Participants will be able to ask questions during the live webinar or can send them in advance.

Kalmykov and Immigration Shareholder Nataliya Rymer will present Part 4, “The Interplay Between Child Status Protection Act and EB-5: When Are Children Protected?,” Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. The panel will discuss the Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) provisions and their application in the context of the EB-5 process, along with practical strategies for ensuring continuing protection and CSPA calculation how-tos.
