A multinational team from global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised Nasdaq-listed U.S. company LivePerson, Inc. (Nasdaq: LPSN) on the acquisition of Munich-based startup e-bot7. Both companies offer software solutions for customer relationship management based on artificial intelligence (conversational AI). According to LivePerson, the acquisition strengthens its presence in the European market as one of the world's leading providers in this segment. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Greenberg Traurig comprehensively advised LivePerson on all legal aspects of the transaction in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK, as well as partially in the United States. In addition to the legal due diligence and the purchase agreement negotiations, the advice also included the recently amended German foreign trade law.

By combining e-bot7's AI technology with LivePerson's Natural Language Understanding (NLU) software, the companies said they aim to enable their customers to deploy and train AI-powered conversations even faster in the future. With e-bot7's existing presence in Europe, LivePerson is expanding its position in the key markets of Germany, France, the UK and Benelux.

Background: Greenberg Traurig advised AI company LivePerson for the first time, solidifying its existing advisory focus on innovative technology transactions.
