NEW YORK – Jan. 13, 2021 – James J. DeCarlo, David J. Dykeman, Chinh H. Pham and Fang Xie, Ph.D., shareholders at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, have been recognized in the 2021 inaugural IAM Strategy 300 Global Leaders Guide.

DeCarlo is a shareholder in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice. A registered patent attorney and electrical engineer, he is actively involved in virtually all aspects of intellectual property counseling. DeCarlo started his career in the computer industry, and since transitioning to law has spent nearly 30 years litigating, licensing and procuring patents in the software, hardware, internet and networking spaces, among many others. DeCarlo’s experience includes litigating patent matters in District Courts around the country, handling matters before the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) and Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), counseling clients on the strategic procurement, use and management of intellectual property assets, and drafting infringement, validity and freedom to operate opinions.
Dykeman, who serves as co-managing shareholder of the firm’s Boston office and co-chairs the firm's global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group, is a registered patent attorney with more than 23 years of experience in patent and intellectual property law. Dykeman's practice focuses on securing worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for high tech clients, with particular experience in life sciences, medical devices, robotics, materials, and information technology.
Pham is co-chair of the firm’s Emerging Technology Practice and the Boston office’s Intellectual Property and Technology Group. As a registered patent attorney, his practice focuses on the strategic creation, implementation and protection of intellectual property rights for technology and life science clients, ranging from ventured backed companies to multinational corporations. As part of his practice, Pham works with his clients to leverage their key innovations for strategic commercial and business opportunities.
Xie, focuses her practice on establishing, defending, licensing, sharing, and monetizing intellectual property rights for life sciences companies. She has broad experience in worldwide patent portfolio development, intellectual property due diligence, licensing and technology transfer, patentability and product clearance studies, validity/invalidity analyses, patent infringement evaluations, as well as intellectual property litigation and pre-litigation counseling.
