MORRISTOWN, N.J. (July 16, 2014) -- International law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP today launched the final phase of a six-month long community service project in support of the Family Promise of Morris County organization. Greenberg Traurig volunteers are installing a swing set installation, planting flowers and mulching the property at Family Promise’s Morris County headquarters in Parsippany.
Six volunteers from the firm began the effort by tilling the soil, laying pavers and preparing the area for the swing set. Another group of Greenberg Traurig volunteers will return during the week of July 28th for the swing set installation. The firm raised money for the project through a bake sale and several jeans day events.
In related efforts, Greenberg Traurig raised funds for the installation of new HVAC equipment that will increase the energy efficiency of the organization’s Morris County facility and significantly reduce utility costs. In addition, for the last nine years, Greenberg Traurig has sponsored the Family Promise of Morris County Annual Dinner Recognizing Volunteers & Community Service that recognizes over 300 volunteers. Greenberg Traurig received a proclamation from the New Jersey Senate and Assembly recognizing Greenberg Traurig’s long term commitment to this organization. Beginning in 2012, the firm also sponsored the Annual Family Promise’s Community Impact Award – this year’s award was given to Rotary District 7470. Overall, Greenberg Traurig’s New Jersey office has contributed more than $100,000 to Family Promise.
“This has been a wonderful group effort from concept to completion. We are proud of our office’s long term commitment to an exceptional organization that provides essential services to the community,” said New Jersey shareholder Barry J. Schindler, Co-Chair of the Greenberg Traurig’s Global Patent Prosecution Group and Chairperson of the Corporate Leadership Council of Family Promise Morris County.
