Mohsin Reza is a litigator in Greenberg Traurig’s Northern Virginia office. His practice focuses on representing individual and corporate clients in state and federal courts and counseling clients in the resolution of disputes outside of the courtroom. Mohsin has handled virtually every type of litigation impacting banks, credit unions, lenders, loan servicers, and consumers, including claims brought under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Regulation B (Reg B), Regulation X (Reg X), and state consumer protection statutes. Mohsin also represents small and large businesses against claims of negligence, breach of contract, fraud, civil conspiracy, and business torts. Mohsin’s practice includes the defense of companies engaged in privacy and data breach litigation, including in single-plaintiff lawsuits, class actions, and MDLs. Mohsin also has experience representing automotive manufacturers in supply chain and supplier disputes. For over a dozen years, Mohsin has served as local counsel in a wide range of lawsuits pending in the state and federal courts of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

  • Represented a strategic communications firm in the dismissal of RICO, civil conspiracy, and Wiretap Act claims brought against it.
  • Represented a national bank in the dismissal of claims asserting violations of ECOA, TILA, the D.C. Consumer Protection Procedures Act related to the origination of a multimillion-dollar home mortgage loan.°
  • Represented a national bank in an MDL arising out of a cybersecurity incident.°
  • Represented a bank in obtaining reversal on appeal of a judgment arising from a garnishment dispute where the trial court ruled that the bank was liable for failing to freeze funds totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.°
  • Represented a SaaS provider in an MDL related to a ransomware attack.°
  • Represented investor of a home mortgage loan in the D.C. Circuit, which affirmed a judgment authorizing foreclosure of real property and dismissing claims for a violation of the FDCPA, violation of the FCRA, quiet title, and civil conspiracy.°
  • Represented mortgage servicer in obtaining the dismissal of breach of contract claims alleging misapplication of loan payments and wrongful placement of force-place insurance.°
  • Represented state-chartered bank in litigation initiated by unincorporated associations seeking to enforce easement by public dedication over the bank’s real property.°
  • Represented a national bank in obtaining the dismissal of claims of wrongful dishonor under the UCC.°
  • Represented mortgage servicer in obtaining the dismissal of claims for unlawful eviction and invasion of privacy.°
  • Represented bank in obtaining the dismissal of contract, conversion, and fiduciary duty claims arising out of a garnishment dispute involving a sweep account.°
  • Represented national bank in obtaining the dismissal of plaintiffs’ disparate impact claim under the Virginia Equal Credit Opportunity Act and claim for breach of covenant of good faith and fair dealing.°
  • Represented national bank in obtaining the dismissal for fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, quiet title, and others claims asserting violations of TILA and RESPA.°
