Tony Centurion is a member of Greenberg Traurig’s Mexico City office and focuses his practice on real estate. He has broad experience in structuring, negotiating, and drafting real estate and financing transactions for both local and cross-border investors. His experience includes the creation of investment and management vehicles and the financing and acquisition of portfolios and diverse asset classes, including residential, industrial, retail, and hospitality, both in Mexico and in the United States.

  • Represented a French international banking group in a structured revolving loan for US$530 million to finance the first purchase of assets – 11 oil and gas pipelines – in accordance with the energy reform in Mexico by KKR to Pemex.°
  • Represented a group of banks in connection with the refinancing of a senior loan of US$364.98 million for the development, construction, and operation of a gas pipeline with a 42-inch diameter and an approximately 454-km extension known as “Ramones Norte” in favor TAG Norte Holding and TAG Pipelines Norte.°
  • Represented a publicly traded company that manufactures solar PV modules and runs large-scale solar projects in the development and financing of the photovoltaic project for US$50 million, “Aguascalientes I,” which was awarded an electricity coverage contract in the first long-term auction offered by CENACE. °
  • Represented a real estate developer and a family office in structuring diverse investment vehicles in Mexico for the financing, investment, and development of real estate projects, including a premium mixed-use real estate development, “Punta Campanario,” covering an area of 87,141 square meters, supported by a real estate master investment agreement (a novel investment and financing mechanism in the Mexican market).°
  • Represented a Japanese foreign exchange bank, Mexican financial institution, Spanish multinational financial services company, and a Japanese multinational bank in the structured financing of US$534 million for the construction by a subsidiary that participates in the petroleum industry activities of the second largest natural gas pipeline in Mexico, the “Samalayuca- Sasabe.”°
  • Represented a construction company in a corporate bond offering of MXN$5 billion for the repayment of its outstanding loans and the development of its retail °
  • Represented a private equity real estate investment firm in structuring three CKDs (structured equity securities) raising and deploying US$12 billion in real estate assets across Mexico.°
  • Represented an international financial institution in a US$1.5 billion credit facilities granted in favor of industrial business complex for improvements of diverse retail assets located in Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.°
  • Represented a real estate developer in structuring eight investment vehicles, including the issuance of MXN $1 billion CERPI (investment trust certificates) in the Mexican Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA), for the financing and development of important projects, including the relevant construction and operation agreements, with a total of MXN$10.5 billion mixed-use GLA of circa 450,000 square meters.°
  • Represented a Canadian social security system and real estate company in the negotiation of the financing facilities, PSA, and development agreement for the purchase and construction of a mixed-use project commercially known as “Desarrollo Puerta Bosques” in Mexico City, consisting of 455 residential units and comprising a total surface of 49,959 square meters and a value of MXN$2.5 billion.°
  • Represented an electricity company as borrower in the refinancing of a US$1.5 billion loan sponsored by a group of several international banks.°
  • Represented a subsidiary of Peruvian precious metal miner as borrower in the refinancing of its short- and long-term facilities for US$800 million sponsored by financial and banking institutions.°
  • Represented a real estate developer company in the negotiation of the financing of a senior facility and PSA for the acquisition of its first industrial portfolio comprising 31 industrial parks, located in the state of Mexico for MXN$3.5 billion.°
  • Advised a family office and real estate development in structuring and negotiating the acquisition and financing of a residential building commercially known as “Magno Parques Polanco,” located in Mexico City for MXN$1.3 billion.°
  • Advised a global real estate company and a diversity private equity fund in structuring and negotiating the acquisition of industrial facilities comprising 543 acres, located in Guanajuato, Hidalgo, and the state of Mexico for MXN$2 billion.°
