ATLANTA – Dec. 20, 2024 – Alison Elko Franklin, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice, has been selected to serve on the Management Committee for the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC). She will serve as the 2025 Vice Director of Spring Programs.
Franklin has held several leadership positions with IWIRC both globally and locally. She previously served as a Director-at-Large and the Vice Director of Programs on the IWIRC International Board and she was a Co-Chair of the IWIRC-Georgia Network when it received the Ryan Award for Outstanding Network. Franklin also was named one of five semi-finalists for the inaugural IWIRC Rising Star Award.
“Serving on IWIRC’s global board strengthens my commitment to the organization in helping to connect and promote women in the insolvency and restructuring profession,” Franklin said. “I am eager to begin organizing the annual spring meeting and continue fostering these important relationships locally, nationally, and internationally.”

At Greenberg Traurig, Franklin focuses her practice on advising debtors, trustees, creditors' committees, and creditors in corporate reorganizations, municipal reform, creditors' rights litigation, and distressed transactions. She represents clients in Chapter 11 reorganizations, Chapter 9 municipal debt adjustments, Chapter 15 cross-border insolvency proceedings, and Chapter 7 liquidations.
