Global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised Augustus Management GmbH (Augustus) on the leasing of the Uferhallen building complex in Berlin. The Uferhallen are a listed monument and center for cultural and art production in the Berlin-Wedding district comprising workspaces for around 150 artists in 80 studios, additional dance and rehearsal rooms, and a large hall.
Augustus is a Berlin-based real estate company that combines the areas of architecture, project management, investment management, asset management, leasing, and property management. Founded in 2014, the company’s goal is to create sustainable working and living spaces, prioritizing social, cultural, and ecological elements.
Greenberg Traurig lawyers advised Augustus on the negotiations and conclusion of a head lease agreement with nonprofit Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH as general tenant. Enabling long-term use and preservation of the complex as a cultural center, the head lease agreement has a 20-year term with the option to extend for an additional 10 years.
Greenberg Traurig has been advising Augustus on real estate investments and ongoing asset management issues for several years.
