Greenberg Traurig Advises InPost on Acquisition of 30 Percent Equity Stake in Menzies Distribution

LONDON – 24 July 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP acted for InPost Group, Europe’s leading automated parcel machine service provider, on its acquisition of a 30% equity stake in Menzies Distribution Group Limited for £49.3 million. The agreement also includes a three-year option to acquire the remaining 70% equity stake.

The strategic partnership sees Menzies, one of the U.K. and Ireland’s leading time-sensitive delivery businesses, becoming InPost’s exclusive logistics provider in the U.K. Menzies’ nationwide logistics capability will give InPost the ability to scale at speed in the U.K. to match increasing consumer demand.

The Greenberg Traurig team comprised Rafał Baranowski, Client Relationship Shareholder in the Warsaw M&A team, and Henrietta Walker, Shareholder and Chair of the London M&A team, with support from Katey Burke and Miles Daly (both Associates, Corporate), and Ella Wallis (Trainee, Corporate).

Henrietta Walker said: “M&A activity across the U.K. logistics sector remains strong, fuelled by the continuing growth in B2B and B2C e-commerce. This strategic collaboration provides exciting growth opportunities for both our client InPost and Menzies, and we are delighted to have advised InPost on this transaction”.

Rafał Baranowski added: “Congratulations to InPost on the successful execution of this transaction on which Greenberg Traurig had the pleasure to advise”.
