Carissa M. Olowos is a patent attorney who centers her legal practice on counseling clients on virtually all aspects of intellectual property protection including patent drafting, patent prosecution, and patent portfolio management. She has deep experience in highly regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and oil and gas. Carissa applies her wide-ranging engineering knowledge in risk management, project management, process monitoring, process design, and process simulation to aid clients throughout the product development process. During law school, she served as a legal intern at Baxter International, Inc. and as a judicial intern to the Hon. Tanya Walton Pratt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
With a background in chemical engineering, Carissa has previously been employed by Eli Lilly, BP, and BHP Billiton. Carissa leverages her deep industry experience as a process engineer to work with engineers and scientist to meet client’s goals.
