Laurin Buettner prosecutes U.S. patent applications relating to mechanical engineering and medical device technologies relating to surgical devices, medical imaging, endoscopic systems, bone fixation systems, and other technology. She coordinates with foreign attorneys to direct the prosecution of foreign patent applications related to U.S. applications and patents.

Laurin drafts, from inception, patent applications relating to biomedical, biomechanical, mechanical, diagnostic testing and radar technologies. She also counsels inventors regarding the patentability of their designs and the scope of patent protection that they may be afforded under current patent laws.

Additionally, Laurin has experience preparing and drafting domestic and foreign Office Action responses relating to magnetic resonance imaging, radar tracking technologies, diagnostic testing, microwave energy delivery, endoscopic procedures, imaging systems technologies, ultrasonic therapy, aviation guidance systems, and biomechanical devices.

Prior to joining the firm, Laurin conducted microbiological research and prepared reports detailing novel research across a variety of scientific spectrums related to infectious diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, adipocyte nutritional research, and osteocyte consumption of oxygen and glucose.
