Greenberg Traurig’s Jaret L. Davis Commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel

MIAMI – Dec. 18, 2024 – Greenberg Traurig, P.A. Senior Vice President and Miami Co-Managing Shareholder Jaret L. Davis has been formally commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of honor bestowed by Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear.

The commission of Kentucky Colonel recognizes an individual’s noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state, or the nation. Davis will become a part of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, a voluntary philanthropic organization, and a goodwill ambassador of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Other Kentucky Colonels have included U.S. presidents, popes of the Catholic Church, politicians, sports figures, first responders, and more.

“It's been amazing learning about the rich history of the Kentucky Colonels. Renowned for their dedication to community service and philanthropy, their values track closely with my own upbringing,” Davis said. “I am honored to be a part of this great tradition.”

Davis was commissioned by Colonel Roberto R. Muñoz, commanding officer of the Kentucky Colonels South Florida Chapter. The South Florida Chapter includes members in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, with a focus on supporting charitable organizations and community development efforts, according to the organization’s website.

An active leader in the Miami community, Davis is a founding member of the Partnership for Miami, a newly formed, nonprofit organization committed to Miami’s long-term growth and success. He serves as vice chairman of Nicklaus Children’s Health System and is a member of the board of directors for both the Miami Foundation and City National Bank of Florida as well as the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, which he formerly chaired in 2016-2017. He also serves on the University of Miami Board of Trustees and is co-founder and general counsel of the eMerge Americas global technology conference.

Davis, a member of Greenberg Traurig’s global Executive Committee, oversees approximately 400 attorneys and business staff based in the firm’s Miami office. He focuses his practice on structuring and negotiating domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and large financings. For over a decade, he has guided the firm’s efforts to be a dominant player in the technology industry and has played a key role in many of South Florida’s largest transactions.
