The events served as a platform for discussions about the importance of providing a supportive culture to help promote workplace diversity and social inclusion, advancing the pipeline for diverse talent, as well as the business and community benefits of a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Simon spoke at the St. Thomas University School of Law, Black Law Students Association, 2019 Umoja Pre-Graduation on April 4; moderated the Leadership Roundtable: The Eighth Judicial Circuit’s Diversity Conference titled “The Business of Inclusion” on April 12 in Gainesville; and moderated the panel “Hail to the Chief: Championing Diverse Talent for the CLO/GC’s Role” during the ACC Foundation’s Good to Great Retreat on April 16 in Orlando.

Simon is active in numerous legal and diversity-focused organizations and serves as the current chair of the 160-member Standing Committee on Diversity and Inclusion of The Florida Bar. In this role, she works with other members of the committee to increase diversity and inclusion in The Florida Bar to better reflect the demographics of the state and develop opportunities for community involvement. “As chief diversity officer for the firm and in my role as chair of The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, I see it as my responsibility to help increase awareness of the importance of advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Simon, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office. “Participating in conversations that allow us to share insights, experiences, and best practices is important to all of us.”

As chief diversity officer for Greenberg Traurig, Simon works to strategically align the firm’s diversity and inclusion programming and initiatives with client needs thereby serving as an integral component of the firm’s global business development efforts.
