NEW YORK – March 16, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP announced the elevation of Hal N. Beerman, David Freylikhman, Marlene C. Guzzino, Jacqueline Greenberg Vogt, and Paul J. Wellington to shareholder, and Lauren Harrison, Carmela T. Montesano, and Anne C. Reddy to of counsel in its New York office.
Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig announced the elevation of 42 attorneys to shareholder from 21 of the firm’s offices and 14 practice areas, with female attorneys making up 50 percent of the 2018 new shareholder class. The firm also announced global revenues for FY2017 of $1,477,180,000, an increase of 7.28 percent over the prior year. This is the fourth consecutive year of record-setting revenues for the firm. The firm’s Profit per Equity Partner increased 5.42 percent to a record $1,634,000.
Beerman focuses his practice on commercial real estate litigation with an emphasis on lease disputes, ownership actions, real estate class action defense, party wall issues, and mechanic’s liens. He also has wide-ranging experience with general commercial litigation in New York state and federal courts.
Freylikhman focuses his practice on virtually all aspects of real estate and corporate law. He represents developers, owners, operators, investors, commercial banks, and institutional lenders in connection with the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of real estate. Freylikhman additionally represents business entities and commercial clients in connection with formation, fund-raising, equity structure, joint ventures, strategic alliances, licensings, corporate control, and governance matters.
Guzzino represents private equity firms, real estate investment trusts, public-private partnerships, developers, retailers, financial and educational institutions in connection with the leasing, development, redevelopment, acquisition and disposition of shopping centers, office towers, mixed-used buildings, hotels, student housing facilities, art galleries and storage facilities in both urban and suburban locations as well as alternative financing arrangements (such as sale-leaseback transactions and bondable ground leases).
Vogt concentrates her practice on construction contracting and litigation. She regularly assists clients from the initial conception and project delivery planning stages through the negotiation of contracts and bid preparation and has experience resolving all types of construction disputes on behalf of developers, owners, designers, contractors and suppliers.
Wellington focuses his practice on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance matters. He regularly represents private equity sponsors, special purpose acquisition companies and other domestic and multinational clients as purchasers, sellers, and investors in a wide range of transactional and corporate contexts, including leveraged buyouts, strategic mergers, acquisitions and divestitures of companies, subsidiaries and divisions, minority investments and joint ventures.
Harrison concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including breach of contract and unfair business practices disputes, real estate disputes, insurance disputes, securities matters, antitrust, and enforcement of judgments.
Montesano is a trusts and estates attorney who concentrates her practice in estate planning. She assists her clients in the creation of estate, business, and charitable plans designed to effectuate their lifetime and testamentary objectives, taking into taking into consideration applicable transfer tax laws, asset planning strategies, business succession goals, and charitable intentions.
Reddy’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters, including false advertising, white collar, non-compete, bankruptcy, environmental law, and contract litigations before federal and state courts. Before joining the firm, Reddy served as a Senior Law Clerk to the Honorable Judith S. Kaye, Chief Judge of the New York Court of Appeals.
