Structuring Preferred Equity Investments in Real Estate Ventures

This program is designed to help attorneys best support clients regarding structuring preferred equity investments in real estate ventures. Due to higher interest rates and increased development and operating costs, many existing projects are not able to fully refinance maturing debt with new mortgage loan proceeds, and many development projects need more capital than first mortgage lenders are willing to provide. Preferred equity can provide an attractive alternative to writing, or asking investors to write, additional capital checks to close the financing gap.
This course will address issues from both the investor/lender perspective and the sponsor/borrower perspective.
