Bryan Harrison is a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Boston office. Bryan focuses his practice on trade secret, patent, and other intellectual property disputes. He also has experience handling general commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, franchise disputes, payor-payee conflicts, and post-sale breach of warranty issues.

He is experienced in managing all phases of litigation, including drafting complaints, conducting and defending depositions, managing e-discovery, trial and post-trial briefings. He has deep experience in both federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration across the country and internationally. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants.

Bryan obtained an undergraduate degree in biochemistry. Before law school, he worked in a clinical genetics lab at Massachusetts General Hospital developing and validating genetic tests to diagnose cardiomyopathy and hearing loss.

  • Represented leading designer of reticles, grayscale masks, and optical gratings in trade secret matter against former employee. Obtained summary judgmnent as a plaintiff on trade secret misapprorpation and a violation of M.G.L. c. 93A on four of five asserted trade secrets. After a 5-day jury trial, obtained a favorable verdict that the defendant misappropriated a fifth trade s and violated M.G.L. c. 93A. In post-trial briefing, obtained a permanent injunction and attorneys’ fees.°
  • Represented medical device company in a patent infringement matter. Successfully invalidated patent on § 101 grounds and participated in four-day jury trial.°
  • Represented plant nutrition company in a trade secret and false advertising lawsuit against a former employee. Defeated former employee’s motion for summary judgment in which he argued the alleged secrets entered the public domain through a patent application.°
  • Represented numerous businesses in trademark opposition and cancellation actions before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.°
  • Defended shoe manufacturer against claims of copyright infringement, obtaining pre-suit settlement.°
  • Defended freight forwarding company in lawsuit asserting copyright infringement arising from allegedly counterfeit textbooks.°
  • Represented mining company in an ICSID arbitration against sovereign nation for violation of bilateral investment treaty. Second-chaired eight-day arbitration and defeated motion for security for costs.°
  • Represented magazine company in data privacy lawsuit concerning Michigan’s Video Rental Privacy Act. Obtained settlement through early mediation.°
  • Represented franchisee in dispute with franchisor over expansion in foreign country. Defeated motion to strike jury demand and deposed general counsel of franchisor.°
  • Represented seller in a post-sale dispute arising out of an alleged breach of warranty.°
  • Represented groups of pathologists and emergency medicine doctors against insurers that denied claims for work performed or down-coded services performed. Obtained settlements in all cases.°
  • Represented national trucking company against claims of negligence. Obtain dismissal of negligence and M.G.L. c. 93A claim at the motion to dismiss stage.°
  • Represented state university in an appeal of the dismissal of a negligence claim. Obtained dismissal of the appeal on the papers.°
