Jacob D. Bundick, Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig's Aviation Group, has a commercial litigation practice focusing on multiple industries, including aviation, banking and financial services, and residential mortgages. His clients range from local businesses to multinational companies – many within the Fortune 100. Serving as lead and co-lead counsel nationwide, he manages a team of attorneys across Greenberg Traurig’s offices defending clients in a variety of business matters, consumer cases, and class action litigation.

Jacob works with national and global airlines on litigation matters involving, commercial disputes, personal injury and property damage claims, products liability, intellectual property, environmental issues, securities class actions, derivative actions, employment matters, data privacy, and advertising law. He also represents aviation clients in local, state, and federal investigations as well as corporate transactions.

His banking and financial services clients include major financial institutions, credit unions, mortgage loan originators, servicers, and investors. Jacob represents these clients in individual and class consumer claims, bankruptcy adversary cases, and contested foreclosures. He advises and represents corporate and institutional clients in federal and state court and various arbitration proceedings regarding claims arising under the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Housing Act, Fair Credit Collection Practices Act, and those based on state fair lending, collection and deceptive trade practices.

He also advises and represents corporate and institutional clients in copyright and trademark infringement matters, commercial contract disputes, construction and insurance matters, and real estate transactions.

  • Represented aviation client in litigation involving breach of contractive carriage claims. The claim alleged violation of contractual terms regarding the amount and type of non-regulatory fees an airline may charge and relationship between the fees and actual cost of services provided. Successfully moved to dismiss complaint with prejudice.
  • Represent airline in federal securities class action where plaintiff alleged that the airline and its executives submitted false and misleading SEC filings.
  • Represented airline in shareholder derivative suit where plaintiff sought relief stemming from alleged safety deficiency reports from local and international outlets.
  • Represented national airline in multimillion-dollar agreement for NFL stadium naming-rights.
  • Represented airline in multifaceted legal matter in creating the largest resort master-planned community in the state of Florida.
  • Represented financial institution with regulatory and enforcement proceedings across numerous states where the institution’s license for mortgage origination business was threatened or impaired their ability to service loans. This was resolved with resolution where each state regulatory agency dismissed their complaints.
  • Represent mortgagor in appeal against the government national mortgage association before the DC court of appeals. The government national mortgage association was in breach of contract for wrongful termination of mortgagor’s eligibility for the association’s mortgage-backed securities program.
  • Represented national banking association in punitive class action where the plaintiff alleged that financial institution violated NRS 107.080, et. seq. Motion to dismiss was granted with prejudice.
  • Represented global financial institution in Fair Debt Collection Practices Act complaint. Motion to dismiss was granted with prejudice.
  • Represented international financial institution in class action in Fair Credit Reporting Act dispute. Motion to dismiss was granted with prejudice.
  • Represented global financial institutions in NRS 107.080 super-priority lien quiet title action, whereby at-issue HOA’s foreclosed on their super-priority liens.
  • Represented national bank in a punitive class action involving claims arising under the Illinois Interest Act and for consumer fraud and breach of contract. Obtained dismissal of the case with prejudice prior to any discovery.
  • Represented servicer in a residential mortgage wrongful foreclosure complaint. Douglas Carter v. Countrywide Home Loans, Inc., No. 09-A-582760.°
  • Represented servicer in a residential mortgage wrongful foreclosure, breach of contract, and quiet title complaint. Christopher Bird v. ReconTrust Company, N.A., No. 3:10-cv-00649.°
