CHICAGO – March 3, 2016 – Michael D. Robson and Lorraine M. Tyson have joined the Chicago office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as shareholders in the Corporate & Securities Practice. Both will be part of the Institutional Private Placement Finance Team. Prior to joining the firm, Robson was a partner with Chapman and Cutler, and Tyson was a partner with Pugh Jones & Johnson.
Robson focuses his practice on lease finance, representing lessees, including several U.S. Class I railroads, and debt and equity investors, in leveraged, single investor, synthetic, and capital lease transactions involving a variety of assets. His representation of institutional investors includes advising, structuring, and documenting debt offerings, with a focus on private placements of debt, both secured and unsecured; complex project and facility financings; real estate transactions; and equipment financings and credit tenant loans. Additionally, he reviews leases and project-related agreements and negotiates and documents financing arrangements, and advises on NAIC-governed "Schedule D" bond transactions.
Tyson focuses her practice on corporate finance, privatization, and public finance transactions. Her clients include insurance companies, pension funds, banks, finance companies, and other institutional investors. She has acted as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, remarketing agent counsel, issuer's counsel, or letter of credit counsel in connection with financings by various Illinois agencies. She has advised clients on various types of tax-exempt and taxable bonds, including general obligation bonds, alternate revenue bonds, limited tax bonds, debt certificates, revenue bonds, Build America bonds, qualified 501(c)(3) bonds, student housing bonds, recovery zone facility bonds, recovery zone economic development bonds, variable rate bonds, and current and advance refunding bonds.

Robson earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from University of Notre Dame Law School, and his B.B.A., magna cum laude, from University of Notre Dame.
Tyson earned her LL.M. in Taxation at Northwestern University School of Law, her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, and her B.A. from Northwestern University.
