LOS ANGELES – June 4, 2015 – This month, the Greenberg Traurig, LLP Los Angeles office participated in the Los Angeles Food Bank’s Annual Food From the Bar Campaign, raising over $11,000 for low-income families in local communities.
The campaign is a four-week effort in which members of the legal community raise funds to provide meals to children. During the summer months, many children who normally rely on school lunch programs will go without meals during their break, and the campaign aids in providing them with nutritious meals during this time. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank distributes four meals.
“We are pleased to have been able to participate in this wonderful cause,” said Mark Kelson, shareholder in the Los Angeles office and member of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s board of directors. “The Food From the Bar Campaign affects so many young lives in our community, and I am very proud that the Los Angeles office was able to assist the Food Bank in its fundraising efforts.”
Greenberg Traurig Los Angeles’ contribution of $11,124 to the campaign will provide 44,496 meals to children throughout the county.
“Greenberg Traurig views charitable giving and volunteer work as a top priority for the firm, and we hope to continue raising funds for this campaign for years to come,” said Jeff Scott, managing shareholder of the Los Angeles office.
