Daniel S. Smith represents a wide range of employers, from local small businesses to Fortune 400 companies, in a wide-range of employment litigation matters including putative wage and hour class and representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits alleging violations the California Labor Code, claims under the California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination, whistleblower claims, claims alleging misclassification under the Fair Labor and Standards Act (FLSA), and claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
Daniel defends clients against claims in state and federal court, arbitration, and in front of administrative agencies. Daniel has also represented clients in mass negligence-based tort actions and judicially coordinated proceedings.
Daniel also provides counsel to clients on employment issues and assists employers with responding to ever-changing legal demands and developing policies and procedures.
