Laura Hammargren is the Administrative Shareholder of the Minneapolis office. She focuses her national litigation practice on class action defense, particularly related to manufacturing and emerging contaminant issues, consumer fraud, product liability, and ERISA. She enhances her experience in these complex litigation matters with robust experience in related government enforcement and internal investigations, including DOJ False Claims Act issues and DOL investigations. Having recently served for several years as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 multinational manufacturer, Laura has insight in creating business-focused litigation strategies that speak to the multi-faceted needs of corporate strategy in these areas and seek to mitigate against exposure in high stakes matters.

Laura has deep experience as both an in-house and firm litigator in MDLs and state-court coordinated actions, class actions, and federal and state civil proceedings, including participating on or managing a multitude of trial and settlement teams. Laura has experience, particularly in investigation and discovery phases, in defending consumer products, advising on emerging contaminant issues, and breaking down complex statutory litigation, including ERISA class actions. In her government investigations practice, Laura focuses on representing manufacturing companies and health care companies in regulatory defense and internal investigations across a spectrum of complex fraud and False Claims Act issues. Laura particularly focuses on helping navigate evolving regulatory and political dynamics in litigation about regulated industries and products, working to find proactive strategies that move businesses forward.

Laura prioritizes pro bono, and her significant representations include several trials for individuals seeking Orders for Protection from domestic violence and working with the ACLU on a previous federal district court case regarding access issues.
