Joe Griffith is a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on products liability and business litigation. His trial practice is national, extending to both federal and state courts across the country including multidistrict litigations (MDLs). Joe is a passionate advocate for his clients, handling cases ranging from complex commercial litigation to mass torts to high stakes, single-plaintiff cases. A Past-President of the Dallas Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, Joe is a frequent speaker on issues relating to trial strategy and federal court practice.

In addition to his professional practice, Joe is a civic leader and involved in numerous community service and bar association activities. He is an active leader of the Federal Bar Association on a local and national level.   • Secured complete dismissal of a multi-million dollar securities action involving allegations of federal and state securities violations and common law fraud brought against a national bank client in the Northern District of Texas (Dallas Division) filed by a Dallas-based independent bank at the motion to dismiss stage.  
  • Represented mortgage servicers in claims brought by borrowers alleging wrongful foreclosure, debt collection practices, deceptive trade practices s and other claims relating to servicing of mortgage instruments.
  • Representation of national food chain against alleged food contamination lawsuit.
  • Obtained permanent and injunctive relief on behalf of client health care entity in lawsuit over lease of multiple facilities.
  • Defended national product manufacturer in class action involving claims of consumer fraud.
  • Representation of national bank lender in multiparty fraud and foreclosure claims with a receiver appointed.
  • Representing mortgage servicers in litigation related to claims arising out of federal and state consumer protection statutes, related to lender placed insurance, and involving complex title issues, including trials and appeals.
  • Represented national hospital services company in injunctive proceedings regarding threatened closure of all business operations.
  • Defended national health care company on claims of conspiracy, tortious interference, breach of fiduciary duties, and contract claims.
  • Represented a social media company in a multiple patent litigation case involving business methods used for personalized communication and marketing.
  • Prosecuted and defended numerous claims involving alleged misappropriation of trade secrets and violations of non-compete agreements.
  • Defended a pharmaceutical company in multidistrict products liability litigation involving its testosterone replacement therapy products.
  • Represented franchisor in lawsuits involving claims of breach of franchise agreement.
  • Represented leading mortgage servicers and issuers of mortgage-backed securities in multimillion-dollar repurchase litigation, investor disputes, internal investigations, and defense of borrower disputes.
  • Represented a leading medical device manufacturer and developer in multidistrict litigation involving product defect and warranty claims.
  • Defended a major product manufacturer in litigation against a component supplier involving claims for breach of contract, breach of warranty, negligence and fraud.
  • Represented former president and CEO of an international corporation facing accusations of engaging in a Ponzi scheme, fraud on investors, improper reporting, and other claims in a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement matter.
  • Obtained temporary restraining orders, and temporary and permanent injunctive relief for numerous clients preventing the theft, use and dissemination of confidential and proprietary business information, intellectual property, and trade secrets by competitors, and current and former employees.°
  • Obtained dismissal by dispositive motion on behalf of a major medical device manufacturer against alleged violations of the False Claims Act brought by purported whistleblower.°
  • Obtained dismissal at motion to dismiss stage on behalf of a major pharmaceutical company against alleged False Claims Act violations.°
  • Obtained favorable settlement for nationwide health care provider against breach of contract claims with significant damages.°
  • Obtained judgment and negotiated favorable settlement of collection for surety company arising out of principal’s breach of indemnity agreement.°
  • Obtained dismissal with prejudice on behalf of national transportation company facing various employment claims.°
  • Obtained favorable trial verdict for a national construction company facing a professional liability claim with significant exposure following a two-month trial.°
  • Defended an international company in a mass tort litigation brought by foreign workers alleging toxic exposure.°
  • Defense of a multinational insurer in complex insurance bad faith litigation.°
  • Represented an international medical device manufacturer in a multidistrict litigation involving product defect and warranty claims.°
