Jacob R. Dean is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice in Greenberg Traurig's Atlanta office. Jacob defends employers in litigation involving race, sex, color, disability, and age discrimination and retaliation claims. Representing companies in a wide range of industries, Jacob has appeared on behalf of employers in federal and state court, as well as before state boards and commissions. His experience includes wage-and-hour investigations and audits under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and defending class and collective wage and hour actions.

Jacob frequently litigates and counsels clients regarding restrictive covenants and trade secret issues. This work includes both pursuing and defending injunctive relief on an expedited basis, as well as representing clients in resolving these issues pre-litigation.

  • Helped defend government contractor where a competitor claimed $4.73 billion in damages and sought injunctive relief that would restrict client from bidding on future contracts associated with the Army’s Blackhawk UH-60V helicopters. Following the filing of a motion to dismiss, GT secured a “walk-away” non-monetary settlement for the client without any agreement to the broad injunctive relief requested within the Complaint.
  • Represented senior executive facing allegations that the client misappropriated a prior employer's trade secrets and confidential information. Prior to the preliminary injunction hearing, secured a “walk-away” non-monetary settlement.
